Italian Consulate Celebrates Festa della Repubblica 2012

On June 4, 2012, the Italian Consulate in Boston celebrated Festa della Repubblica — Italy’s National Day — with a cocktail reception at the Consular offices on Atlantic Ave.

While many attended, the event was overall sober, as participants remembered the victims of the recent earthquakes in northern Italy.

“It is important that we celebrate Italy on such a day,” said Consul General Giuseppe Pastorelli. “But we must also remember those who have been hit by the earthquake.”

Pastorelli’s remarks were preceded by the singing of the Italian and American national anthems by singer Angela Rossi.
