Giorgio Bassani and the Call for Remembrance

Boston University, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Boston, the American Jewish Committee and the Consulate General of Israel to New England will hold a commemoration of the Italian Holocaust Remembrance Day with a film screening and round table discussion titled “Giorgio Bassani and the call for Remembrance.”

The Academy Award winning Italian feature film “The Garden of the Finzi-Continis,” directed by Vittorio De Sica, will be shown at 3:00 p.m.

Special guest of the event: Dr. Paola Bassani, daughter of the Italian writer Giorgio Bassani. She is an art historian and an expert in the relations between Italian culture and French Art of the 17th century.

She published a book on Claude Vignon and is the chief editor of the international art magazine Bulletin de l’Association des Historiens de l’Art Italien.
