Where: MIT Department of Chemical Engineering, Room 66-110, 25 Ames Street, Cambridge , MA 02139 [map]Professionisti italiani a Boston presents “Nanomedical Vistas – Technology Applied to Medicine in Today’s Future,” with invited speaker Dr. Mauro Ferrari, President and CEO, Ernest Cockrell Jr. Distinguished Endowed Chair at The Methodist Hospital Research Institute, and President of the Alliance for NanoHealth, in Houston.
Professor Mauro Ferrari is an internationally recognized expert in the development and application of biomedical nanotechnology. He published more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and has more than 30 U.S. and international patents.
He lead the development of the NCI’s program on nanotechnology and founded several start-up companies. He received several national and international prestigious awards from – among others – the National Institute of Health, the National Science Foundation, the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering, the Department of Defense.
His research program focuses on bringing nanotechnology to clinical medicine in several areas including oncology, cardiovascular medicine, infectious disease and diabetes. His research is bringing nanotechnology to address some of the important requirements of modern medicine from early diagnosis (platform for the detection of biomarkers) to personalized therapy (controlled-release implants, BioNanoScaffolds and nano-vectors).
The admission to the event is free and there are 100 seats available. To register please visit: http://ferraripib.eventbrite.com
