Festival Italia 2012 in Wakefield (Aug. 11)

On Saturday, August 11, celebrate Festival Italia in the streets of Wakefield. To enhance this festive event, the Town will be closing a portion of Main St. and all of Albion between Main St and North Ave.

Wakefield merchants will be setting up their tents and bringing their business to the street. But don’t forget to stop inside businesses and stores as well for specials and surprises!

Plans are underway to bring back the Wakefield Wheel of Chance which was a big hit last year, as you spun the wheel for a chance to win prizes courtesy of Wakefield merchants. As you continue through the downtown, visit each of the 20 regions of Italy, represented by local merchants. Children activities including games, art projects, and more will be found on Albion Street. Entertainment and Italian music will fill the streets. And of course, what would a festival be without food? There will be many delectable choices sure to please the whole family.
